Did I Marry My Dream Man?

Posted by Kayce at 9:35 AM 6 comments

Back in my high school days, I was dreaming I could marry a foreigner  preferably a European who is a handsome and rich man. My mom already planned a good future for me because she promised me that after I had finished my course in college, I will follow her in Switzerland to live with her, have a good job and find my dream man.

But it wasn't happened when I met my last boyfriend who is now my beloved hubby. I was living in an easy-go-lucky life since I was independent when I was in college. I live alone in an apartment, always receiving a monthly allowance from my mom, I used to hang out with my friends while going out bar hopping, partying, disco dancing, and  shopping where I could get all the stuffs that I want. That was my liberated life before but when I met Michael and became my boyfriend, everything was completely changed. And I changed a lot because of my LOVE for him.

My liberated life was changed into a conservative one and I am so thankful for that because of Him, I came to know more about Jesus and I am now living a life with full of happiness, love and fear of the Lord. And because of that, we don't have any problems with our marriage because we always place God at the center of our relationship.

He is not my Dream Man.... But He is My God’s Will. And I am so thankful to God because I did not choose the right man for me,But it is God who chose the righteous man to be with me... FOREVER.

Ruby Tuesday - Swiss Flag and My Mom

Posted by Kayce at 8:20 AM 2 comments

As you can see from her photos, she has a Swiss Flag because she lives and work in Switzerland for more than 20 years now.

It's been awhile that we haven't got a chance to chat with my mom online since she had been very busy with her work and she always have an overtime and when she arrives home, she have no time to go online because she's been tired already. Earlier today, she called me on the phone and that made me miss her that's why I chose her as my entry for this week's Ruby Tuesday.

My Simple Tips on How to Look Slimmer in Photos

Posted by Kayce at 6:04 AM 3 comments
If you have noticed that most of my self captured photo shots are like this where I usually lift my hands and the angle of my camera is facing down on me, well this is my secret where I look slimmer in photos. hahaha! Now its finally revealed. As you can see I was seating down and my bulging tummy is visible. However, it doesn't look so bulgy since I wear a colorful printed blouse where I don't look fat that much.

Same thing also when I stand up, I do this kind of position and angle from the camera because its effective in making me look slimmer, do you agree with me?

When I am being captured, I usually placed my hands on my hips so that my huge and flabby arms is not so visible. When I am wearing a dress, I also used a huge belt so that my waist and hips can still be emphasize. You also have to stand sideways to the camera. Don't just stand direct but try to make an angle. The sideways position will make you appear slimmer than the frontal look.

Cover your body parts that you don't feel well about. If you wish you could hide your belly, then do so! why not? I am also doing that.  Hold something in your hands: a handbag, bunch of flowers or any props you like. LOL!

Try to take the camera's attention to your body parts that you feel confident about and no one will notice the things that you would rather hide away. Once again, not everyone can look like a model and that's not necessary, because every person is beautiful in a different way. And if you have overweight or simply are not slim built, it doesn't mean you can't be attractive.

Furthermore, if you'll think how to pose too much, you will look uncomfortable and unnatural, so it's better to be yourself to let out the real beauty. A smile and relaxing can help you look better more than any tips.

My Sister in Law's Life Story in America was Featured in Tonic.com!

Posted by Kayce at 7:51 AM 2 comments

We received a phone call today from my sister in law and she said that we will check out Tonic.com because their Life Story was featured on their website. We were so thankful for  this great opportunity for them because this is not only for their family but this is also for our church.

I will share to you my Sister in Law's Featured story from the website:

LIFE IN AMERICA: A Mother of Four Works Three Jobs to Support Church and Family

Ryann Feddersen works hard to support her family in Iowa and the church her late mother founded in the Philippines. Tonic readers: Here's your chance to give a little back to one hard-working mom.

ryann1.jpg
**EDITOR'S NOTE: Back in March, after Tonic presented a $30,000 scholarship to Constance McMillen on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show, we received a heartfelt letter from a 12-year-old girl named Tresha who was hoping we might be able to do something to help her mom, too. Well, this is her mom's story. It's a story typical of many in America — the kind of story that is often overlooked by big media; and a story that we hope will move you to want to fulfill Tresha's humble request. At the bottom of this page, Tonic is providing a link to a Paypal account that we've set up especially for the Feddersens. We're not a nonprofit, and your donations will not be tax deductible. But if you're so inclined, why not give what you can? Any amount will do. And whatever money we raise will be handed over to Tresha's mom — a woman who's working hard to do her best, not only for her own kids, but for others, too. It's sort of like neighbors helping neighbors. We're just doing it online, and proving that in this day and age, it's possible to be neighborly no matter where you live.

According to the US Census Bureau, 55 percent of American mothers now work outside the home. But that's just a number; the reality is embodied by women like Ryann Feddersen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This mother of four works three jobs, two of which are full-time, to support not only her family, but also so she can keep giving back to the church her late mother founded in the Philippines.
"I don't just love to work, I love to work a lot," Feddersen says. "I have lots of people I could help. I have a commitment to keep helping. As long as I can help, I will."

The truth is, Feddersen recently had to slow down, just a little bit. Pain in her back led to a diagnosis of Scoliosis, forcing her to quit her third full-time job, even though her family could use the money, because she could not continue to work standing up. But that doesn't deter her: "My heart tells me we need to help others, because we know what it is like to not have food on the table."

The Family that Works Together, Stays Together

Feddersen and her son and three daughters moved from the Philippines to Iowa four years ago. At the time, she was a single mother, and she says the move was tough on her kids. "We live in a very small town, just 700 people," says Feddersen. "We came from a very big city in the Philippines. We experienced racial discrimination here. But I told my children, 'forgive and forget.' As long as you do well in school, someday these kids will be your good friends. And it happened. I taught them to be a good citizen wherever you are."

Feddersen recently married a man equally as hard working as herself. "He works 12 to 16 hours a day as a machine operator," she says. "I'm very lucky to have found him. The two of us work really hard. I consider myself blessed, having this family."

It was Feddersen's second daughter, 12-year-old Tresha, who first brought her mom to our attention here at Tonic. "My mom works so hard," Tresha told us, "but we know she works for us."

Tresha and her brother and sisters (Jhesh, 14; Josh, 10; and Nicole, 8) do as much as they can to help their mother. "We help out a lot around the house by cleaning and doing chores when she's really tired," Tresha says. "We see how our parents work really hard. We want to pay them back and help."

Ryann's voice breaks when talking about her daughter's hard work and compassion. "Tresha really touched me, because she wants to help," she says. "It's tough as a single mom. You work so hard, and then you see them growing up. I see them with their gifts and their giving, and I know that my hard work as a mom is not a waste."

outdoorchurch.jpg
A Family's Legacy

One of the reasons Feddersen works so hard is so she can support the Into the Hands of God church her mother founded in the Philippines 17 years ago. "The church is a legacy from my mom," she says. "She entrusted us [with it]."
Feddersen's mother died last October after a brief illness. "As she got sick, mom focused on her medical bills and medications," says Feddersen. "We could not maintain the mortgage, and the bank took the building back."

The church is now an outdoor structure with a nipa (thatched) roof and no walls, but it still supports a large community of people around it. It might not have survived without Feddersen's help. "I'm the oldest child in my family, so it's my responsibility," she says. "I need to shoulder everything with my husband. I'm lucky, he tells me to just keep going and helping."

Feddersen recently helped to purchase a new set of musical instruments for the church. She will also be helping to pay for tuition and books for ten children starting the school year this summer. "The people, they inspire me," she says. "No matter if there's a big building or no building, they still find it in their hearts to worship."

Meanwhile, Feddersen's two brothers also depend on her support. "One of my brothers is in charge of the music ministry," she says. "He teaches the kids, and he also helps the blind women who need to be picked up and taken to church each week and fed," she says.

Her other brother will succeed her mother as the church's minister. He is currently a full-time seminary student, an education made possible by his sister's giving heart.

"I know I have four kids to take care of here, but I do what I can to help [my family back in the Philippines]," she says.

Lessons from Giving

Daughter Tresha says she has learned quite a bit from her mother's good example. "I would tell other kids to get their heads up, try to explore and help out a little."

Despite her back pain, Feddersen continues to work and to pray for a better future, and encourages everyone she meets to do the same. "You need to be out there," she says. "Share your story with other people. Don't be ashamed, tell the truth. People will be inspired. The truth will always prevail."

Want to help the Feddersens? Click here to make a non-tax-deductible donation, and 100 percent of whatever you give will go directly to this one inspiring family.

Mommy and Me Monday - My Daughter and My Birthday

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?

It's another Mommy and Me Monday bonding moments with our kids and here's my entry for this week.

It was my birthday 2 weeks ago and we had a simple celebration together with my family and I really enjoyed it since my daughter was on the spotlight again. She is actually the one who blows the candle and just look at her pouting lips while blowing it.  Isn't that cute? ^_^

Why We Need to have a Car

Posted by Kayce at 2:14 AM 0 comments

I seldom bring my daughter whenever I go out to buy something or when I pay some bills because she is just too picky in riding a public utility vehicles. Since we don't have a car, we just ride on a jeepney or a multicab. But she don't like to ride on it because she feels uncomfortable. She will say "It's too hot!" and said "Taxi lang!". She will just feel the comfort in riding a car when she rides on a taxi.

That's why I just wait for her when she falls asleep during the day and that's the time I will hurriedly dress up so I can go out and do my appointment. Because if she's with me, I need to have at least P500 budget because that includes our taxi fare back and forth plus snacks since she likes to dine out and eat a lot. Whoa!

That's why we need to have a car since she will be turning 3 years old next month and she actually wants to go to school already. And its a heavy burden for us when she goes to school where she always want to ride on a taxi.

Since we can't afford to buy a branded new car, we just prefer to buy a second hand cars from Japan and Korean Surplus. We are planning to buy a Starex van since its a family car and we have an extended family here.

The Starex van this time costs around P230,000 that includes registration from LTO. But we still can't afford it since we don't have that kind of budget so as of now, we are planning to get a car financing loan from a financing company or from the bank.I just hope that there will be no hassles in applying for a car loan so that our application will be approved immediately.

Beauty Freebies

Posted by Kayce at 12:46 AM 0 comments

A number of different product manufacturers and stores regularly offer free product samples. These free samples are also commonly referred to as freebies. Freebies come in all different size, shapes, and styles and they tend to include a number of different products.

When it comes to getting beauty freebies, you will find that you have a number of different options. For instance, beauty freebies are most commonly offered by the product manufacturer. To get these types of freebies, you often need the internet to do so. What you will want to do is perform a standard internet search with the name of a beauty product manufacturer that you like or one that you have just heard of. If that manufacturer is offering free beauty product samples, there is good chance that the special offer would be outlined on the website’s main page. Although this approach is nice, it can be time consuming and you aren’t guaranteed to always find beauty freebies. That is why you may also want to explore your other options.

On a free product sample website or a freebie website, you should be able to find information on how you can go about requesting a number of free beauty product samples. Be on the lookout for beauty freebies that require the payment of postage, as these offers are not truly free.

You can also try visiting one of your local beauty supply stores. It is not uncommon for a beauty supply store to offer free product samples on some of the beauty products that they carry for sale. By offering beauty freebies of their most popular products, a beauty supply store stands a better chance of selling the full size version of the product as well. Beauty supply stores are the best places to find beauty freebies locally, but it is also possible to occasionally find other retailers, like fashion stores or department stores, that also handout free product samples, including free beauty samples.

As a reminder, you can usually find beauty freebies by visiting the online websites of product manufacturers, free product sample websites, as well as by visiting your local beauty supply stores. Even if you are unable to find beauty freebies, you may be able to come across valuable moneysaving coupons that can be used on the beauty products that you may need or want to buy.

My Daughter likes to have a Younger Sibling!

Posted by Kayce at 6:45 AM 1 comments

We have a member of our church who has a 3 months old baby and my daughter really loves to hug and cuddle her. Our fellow church members are teasing us to have a new baby since my daughter is starting to show her likes on babies. Before she was not like that because she felt jealous since since she wants that all attention must be to her.

My daughter will be 3 years old next month and most of my friends and relatives and even my mom had told me that it is now the right time to have another one. Actually, I am still undecided and my hubby has no plans yet. 1 child is enough for us but many said that it is not good to have only one child since she will become spoiled one when she grows up.

My first pregnancy was a hard one too since I had a breech pregnancy and I labored where my baby was completely in  breech position where the feet comes first. It was a very delicate delivery I had since I just gave birth at home. Though I had successfully delivered the baby, but I had suffered bleeding for more than a month. And that's what I am afraid of when I am going to have a 2nd baby.

However, I am still optimistic enough and I am not concluding it. Lets just see. We are still asking for guidance and wisdom from God because I know there is a right time for this.

Then Sings My Soul Saturdays - Great is Thy Faithfulness

Posted by Kayce at 10:35 AM 3 comments

I just love the message of this song from Israel Houghton and The New Breed. What a wonderful song to Praise our Lord and Savior. God bless those who hear the words of this song from their heart.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness Lyrics

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changes not, Thy compassions they fail not
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be

Great is Thy faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed, Thy hands hath provided
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
Blessings all mine with ten thousands beside

Camera Critters - Pig on a Cave

I immediately grab my camera and captured this pig who just came out from a cave. It looks like  the owner really made this cave for his pig since it doesn't have a shelter and a home.

This is my Camera Critter entry for this week.
